The new album, as he steps away from Chickenfoot temporarily, is aptly entitled Sammy & Friends. The “Friends” add up to big names like Michael Anthony, Ronnie Dunn, Kid Rock, Neal Schon, Joe Satriani, Nancy Wilson and Toby Keith. Running down the track listing, Personal Jesus, originally recorded by new wave band Depeche Mode stands out while Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville seems somehow expected. The video has been released for the first single via Sammy’s official you-tube channel, Knockdown Dragout, featuring Kid Rock and Joe Satriani.
